I've heard this before, but I need a source. Please find a source as soon as possible so I can tell a friend about this.

This quote is very effective in cases, but too tired to type it up here lol

Thanks!

@tahmina, I had found it somewhere, though looking for it again, I don't find the exact wording online, so it's likely from a book I read or a lecture I was listening to.

However, a similar hadith is found in Bayhaqi's Shu'ab al-Iman (Branches of Religion). Also, it is extensively quoted by Naqshbandi websites as it is in a seemingly popular book about Naqhsbandis:
http://books.google.com/books?id=64U41q5MgLYC&pg=PA127&lpg=PA127&source=bl&ots=DDJiYO3oqo&sig=YquaKJn5PIdJshGg2LF4n9Vsxcg&hl=en&ei=iK3_SY6QJJ_ksgOdkLztBQ
Halfway into that page (127) you will find the hadith.

Sorry about the lack of sources, I'll definitely try to source any quotes next time.

Because this is a saying by a prominent Muslim and nobody else takes Jafar as-Sadiq as a leading figure other than Muslims. He was the teacher of Imam Abu Hanifa (leader of one of the other four schools of thought) who once said, “I have never seen a greater jurist than Ja’far bin Muhamad.”

If a non-Muslim wishes to follow the teachings of Islam, they may do so, but nobody should expect it of them for it is not obligatory to do so. Also, it is mainly the Muslim Ummah that is suffering throughout the world right now. There are non-Muslims suffering as well, but they don’t necessarily have a known system in place to end their suffering, while Muslims do and need only follow it.
