My Palm Zire 72 got washed in the laundry. Come back often for updates. I'll update this almost everytime I do something.

10/1--washed in laundry
10/3--opened. really rusty.
10/4--closed. light indicates charged (and has power) but no other signs of life. Light stays on for hours after unplugged.

Status currently:
No reset sound or power response. Screen remains off. Familiar high-pitched sound has not returned!
my love is dead :-(
